Design Process

You choose: FULL-SERVICE or CONSULTATION

Consultation:
Are you having a hard time figuring how to decorate your home or event but enjoy the process of creating it yourself?  If so, a consultative service may be the best for your needs.  I will meet with you at your home, ask you questions and listen carefully to find out about your design needs.  You can ask me as many questions as you like and I will provide you general guidance and ideas for your home or party.  This is your time to brainstorm with a professional designer for ideas.  A flat fee is charged for each session which typically lasts 1-2 hours and exact services can be chosen on an a la cart basis.  If more than 2 hours are needed, an hourly fee for the additional time applies.



Full-Service:
If you opt for full-service, Lindsey Meyl Designs is there for you every step of the way from creation to completion.  Full-Service is billed on a commission basis that is a line-item included in the overall budget.

Step 1:  FIRST APPOINTMENT
This meeting can be done over the phone or in person.  I want to find out about your design needs as well as introduce you to my company & style philosophy.  This first meeting is about mutually determining if we want to work together on the project.  I’ll go over the design process in detail and explain necessary budgeting.

Step 2:  SURVEY & AGREEMENT
Once we have decided to work together and a service agreement is signed, I'll meet with you in person to discuss what you have in mind.  For interior services, this meeting should be held at your home so that measurements are made and colors & materials are discussed.  I’ll talk with you and your family about the activities & mood you want your room to have, so that we can create the environment that best suits your lifestyle.  For event services, we'll view or discuss the space the party is being hosted and run through each segment of the event including food, number of guests, and design aesthetic. 

Step 3:  DESIGN PLAN & PRESENTATION
I create a custom DESIGN PLAN for your space or party so that you can envision the final look.  The DESIGN PLAN is created off of what we have learned from you and our own creativity.   Depending on your needs, the design concept will be presented through the use of photos, floor plans, fabrics, paint, flooring samples and/or other materials we recommend.  At this point, the design plan is tweaked and/or approved into a final design plan. 

Step 4:  IMPLEMENTATION
Once you approve the design, furnishings and materials are ordered and all painting, construction and other work is scheduled for interiors.  For events, all necessary rentals, flowers, tenting, stationary and other materials are ordered and catering, entertainment, lighting, photography, transportation, and videography is scheduled.

We will be there every step of the way for you; overseeing the entire project.
